PLENO Selected for DEFINE Defence Accelerator

Berlin, March 2025 – We’re excited to share that PLENO has been selected to take part in the DEFINE Defence Accelerator, Finland’s leading program for emerging defence and deep tech companies. This marks a significant opportunity to work alongside top innovators from across Europe as we push the boundaries of autonomous systems in critical applications.

About DEFINE

Launched to strengthen Finland’s defence innovation ecosystem, DEFINE - Defence Innovation Network Finland is more than just an accelerator—it’s a national initiative aimed at growing strategic technologies for both military and civilian use.

This Spring 2025 cohort brings together 12 cutting-edge startups from over hundreds of applicants across Europe, each focused on building solutions for secure communications, counter-drone technologies, GPS-free navigation, battlefield medicine, and next-generation energy infrastructure.

Set in Riihimäki, a fast-rising centre for tech innovation and defence collaboration, DEFINE connects startups, established defence players, investors, and government leaders in a powerful three-month program that ends with a Demo Day on June 4th.

What PLENO Brings to DEFINE

PLENO develops autonomous AI agents for drones and unmanned vehicles—software that functions like a digital co-pilot, capable of making mission-critical decisions independently and in real time.

Built from the ground up to be hardware-agnostic and simulation-trained, our AI agents reduce preparation time for autonomous missions from months to days. Whether in the sky or on the ground, they act as trusted teammates in the field, executing complex objectives with speed and precision.

DEFINE gives us a valuable platform to:

Finland’s increased focus on indigenous defence technology—especially after joining NATO in 2023—makes this program both timely and aligned with our long-term vision: enabling autonomy at scale for critical operations.

DEFINE sits at the intersection of national security and commercial deep tech. By supporting startups like PLENO, the program helps Finland—and Europe—build resilience, reduce dependency on external suppliers, and strengthen its innovation base.

Many of the technologies developed within DEFINE, including autonomous systems, quantum hardware, and battlefield-ready power solutions, are dual-use by nature—paving the way for spillover impact in industries like logistics, public safety, and environmental monitoring.
